I whānau mai au ki Poihākena engari kei tēnei whenua rerehua tōku ngākau.

I was born in NSW but it is this beautiful land that has my heart.

Ia te rā, ka oho au ka kite au i te ataahua o te motu tapu o Kāpiti.

Everyday, I awake and I see the beauty of the sacred island of Kāpiti.

Ka rongo au i ngā wai karekare o te awa o Waikanae.

I feel the the flowing waters of the Waikanae river.

Ka kite au i te auaha o Papatūānuku, ka rongo i te au o te wai.

I see the shape of Papatūānuku, I feel the tides.

Inā te ataahua o te ao.

Oh the beauty of the world.

He mea iti, engari, ia rā he oranga wairua tēnā āhua.

This is something small, but everyday this sight lifts my soul.

 Ko Janine rāua ko David ōku mātua Nō te whānau Hughes ahau.

Janine and David are my parents. I am from the Hughes whānau.

Ko Chris tōku hoa tane. Ko Jordan Harcourt-Hughes ahau.
