A little time to wander, notice and make.
Creative Rambles are small, relaxed creative experiences hosted by Jordan from her working artist’s studio on the Kāpiti Coast.
Each ramble begins and ends at the studio. From here, we head out on foot, crossing the river and making our way towards the beach, with views across to Kāpiti Island. Along the way, we slow things down — paying attention to what’s around us and making space to notice the small things we might otherwise walk straight past.
What happens on a Creative Ramble?
There’s no pressure to produce a finished piece of art and you don’t need to think of yourself as creative. Instead, Jordan will introduce you to simple practices that can travel with you wherever you go, including:
- mindful doodling and mark-making
- creative observation and noticing
- playful watercolour exploration
- gathering colours, shapes, textures and ideas from the landscape
- making time to pause, wander and see what emerges.
Your ramble finishes back at the studio, with time to bring the experience together and continue making.
Choose your Ramble
Two-hour Creative Ramble
A gentle introduction to creativity on the go. We’ll ramble from the studio towards the beach and back again, stopping along the way to notice, doodle and experiment with mark-making. Back in the studio, we’ll enjoy watercolour play and reflect on our adventure in nature.
Half-day Creative Ramble
For those who’d like a little more time and space. The longer format allows us to slow the pace, spend more time creating along the way and enjoy additional creative time back at the studio.
Creative Rambles can be booked for individuals or groups of up to 10 people, making them a lovely option for friends, visitors, small teams or groups looking for something a little different to do together.
Prices
Two-hour Creative Rambles start from $150 for one person and include rambling supplies, studio access and refreshments. Add an extra $30 for each person after that; so for example a two-hour ramble for three people would be $210.
