About the Micro-workshops
If you haven’t dropped by the studio for a visit yet, and are interested to take a look and also enjoy some creative time of your own, this is the perfect opportunity! These micro-workshops are a great way to get a quick taste of the kind of courses that I run – many of which focus on exploring creativity for fun and feeling good. They’re short, and you don’t need to bring anything but yourself. You don’t need any experience or artistic talent. And if you enjoy the session, you might also want to think about joining my for my 168 Days of Kāpiti Magic programme here in Otaihanga, or come to the 8-week course in Wellington next year (see course outline further down for more information on that).
What the Micro-workshop includes
- 30 minute creative tutorial
- The opportunity to relax in the garden and grounds with some mindfulness prompts
- The opportunity to experiment with watercolours and create your own artwork
- Light morning or afternoon tea
Date: 15 January 2022
Workshop options: Choose between three time slots: 10am – 11:30, 1-2:30pm and 3-4:30pm. Workshops are limited to ten people per session.
About the 8-week course (Wellington Community College)
What if everything could be calm, simple, joyful and meaningful?
What if every day you could achieve bliss by knowing your most important goals, by feeling more connected to your spiritual side, feeling like you’re doing important work in the world and being more confident in your vision of the future?
This eight week course on mindful creativity aims to help you achieve a sense of peace, connectedness and wellness. Incorporating practical creative exercises, journaling and reflection activities along with intuitive writing and creative visioning, this is a great foundation course to establish a creative practice that works for you.
Together we’ll explore a range of creative exercises that will include: doodling, drawing, storyboarding, sketching, painting, journaling, intuitive writing and visualisation.
This course culminates in the creation of a ‘soul portrait’ to help you capture, and stay connected, to your truest self.
Paints and paint brushes are included in course fee, but please bring an art journal or drawing pad and a pack of felt pens and a pen to first session; tutor will advise of other items required (approximate cost $50).
This course is for you if you want to:
- Start a creative practice
- Access a calm, empowered, inspired state of mind
- Find your unique style of expression
- Find ways to explore and contemplate your life purpose
- Set a creative vision and articulate your creative goals
